One of the most important parts of the night is the awards ceremony, where we honour our members who have put in the work to do great things for the industry this year.

Member Awards

BCLNA Member of the Year awards are awarded to those who commit themselves to professional practices and recognizes the efforts of dedicated members and friends to the industry. Award winners are nominated by BCLNA members, staff or the Board of Directors.

Award categories include:

This award is presented to a person whose services or contribution to the industry and the association has been exemplary over recent years.

This award is presented to a person who works primarily within the horticultural industry educating the industry and/or public about the industry or its products or services.

This award is presented to an individual 40 years of age or younger and whose services or contribution to the industry, and the association, has been exemplary.

This award is presented for outstanding service by an individual or company that supplies non-green goods or services to the industry.

This award is presented to an individual providing outstanding communication to the public on garden and landscape topics.

For outstanding service or contribution to the association and the industry by an individual who is or has been an active member or an employee of an active member.  This award is nominated and chosen by BCLNA Past Presidents.

Landscape Awards of Excellence

The BCLNA recognizes a high standard of expertise in the landscape trade through the annual BC Landscape Awards of Excellence.  These prestigious awards recognize the year’s best in creating the exceptional gardens and honour the outstanding skill and workmanship of BC’s landscape professionals in various project categories, ranging from $5,000 to more than $120,000.

In late summer each year, landscape installation, maintenance and design firms submit their best projects of the season.  These projects are evaluated against rigorous criteria by a panel of highly accredited judges who are selected from various sectors of the horticulture industry, including municipal/public gardens, nurseries, landscape companies, landscape architecture firms, educational institutions, garden communications and garden centres.

70th Annual General Meeting

Thursday, December 7th – 5:00PM to 6:00PM

Join us pre-party at the Delta Burnaby as we gather as an association for our annual general meeting! The opportunity to attend virtually will also be made available.

This meeting is your greatest opportunity as a BCLNA member to play an active role in the future of the association, and we would love to have you participate. Among other items, we will be reviewing the fiscal year and voting on our 2023-24 BCLNA Board of Directors.

All BCLNA members are encouraged to attend the AGM. There is no cost to attend, however you must register in advance.

Voting rights are limited to Active and Associate members and there is only 1 vote per member company (owners, managers or representatives).  If you are unable to attend the AGM or are attending online, please complete and forward your Proxy.*

*Proxies must be received no later than Wednesday, December 6th, 2023 to be counted.
