British Columbia is celebrating Apprenticeship Recognition Month as a record 15,000 people have registered for apprenticeships this year, closing a crucial skills gap, and benefitting the economy. The government’s focus on apprenticeships and skilled-trades certification aims to standardize training, support workforce development, and boost the prestige of careers in the trades, with significant increases in registrations, qualifications, and participation from Indigenous Peoples and women in under-represented trades over the past few years.
