BCLNA has been collaborating with the BC Greenhouse Growers Association and the United Flower Growers over the past 18 months to investigate alternative energy and technology options for Greenhouses in response to increasing pressure to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The Ministry of Agriculture and Food and Clean BC have funded the study which was carried out by Consolidated Management Consultants Ltd, led by David Craig.
The final report, Options For Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions Reduction In The BC Greenhouse Industry” is now complete. The Steering Committee is releasing the results of the study to our growers members first. A meeting is being held at the Ministry of Agriculture office, Rm 121 – 1767 Angus Campbell Rd, Abbotsford on Thursday, March 21, 2024 from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm. Light refreshments will be provided at the start of the meeting. If you plan to attend, please email Coreen at [email protected].
