Pruning Workshop 2.0 – Burnaby 

It’s time to get ready for spring! Sharpen up those pruners, grab your saw and safety gear, and join us in Burnaby for a day of pruning practice! Whether you are new to the world of pruning, looking to freshen up some skills, or earn CEUs, this workshop is for you.

Join our qualified, experienced instructors who will start the day with an orientation and then practical hands-on techniques in the field.

Topics Covered:

  • Choosing the right tool for the job
  • Timing
  • Target Pruning – DDD, structure, size, clearance
  • Standard principles and practices – ANSI, CODIT, Canadian Landscape Standard
  • Safety – MSI, RSI, PPE
  • Basic tool care – sharpening, sanitation, storage

Participants should dress for the weather and bring their PPE, clean, sharp by-pass pruners and a handsaw.

*Lunch is not included in the workshop price; there are many options for lunch in close proximity to the workshop location. Tea, coffee, and water will be provided.

**This workshop will take place at two locations; classroom instruction will be at Riverway West School. Pruning component will occur at: 8450 New Haven Close, Burnaby; this site is within walking distance of the school.

Landscape Horticulture Certification Program approved for 5 CEUs. ISA CEUs pending.
