Don’t Miss the Last Spring Pruning Workshop!

Sharpen up those pruners, grab your saw and safety gear, and join us in Whistler for a day of pruning practice! Whether you are new to the world of pruning, looking to freshen up some skills, or earn CEUs, this workshop if for you.

Join our qualified, experienced instructors who will start the day with an orientation  and then practical hands-on techniques in the field.

Topics Covered:

  • Choosing the right tool for the job
  • Timing
  • Target Pruning – DDD, structure, size, clearance
  • Standard principles and practices – ANSI, CODIT, Canadian Landscape Standard
  • Safety – MSI, RSI, PPE
  • Basic tool care – sharpening, sanitation, storage

Participants should dress for the weather and bring their PPE*, clean, sharp by-pass pruners and a handsaw. *PPE required: safety vest, gloves, and eye protection.

Classroom instruction will be held at the Whistler Chamber of Commerce; pruning will take place in the Whistler Village (walking distance from the Chamber); exact location is still in the works.

Lunch will not be provided as there are many delicious options in Whistler Village.  Coffee and doughnuts/muffins will be served in the morning.

Landscape Horticulture Certification Program approved for 5 CEUs. Now approved for 5 ISA CEUs!
