Landscape Award of Excellence - Bissonnette Residence

The residents envisioned a landscape design that would modernize the look of their dated Vancouver Special. They wanted a space that would be both visually appealing and provide a functional entertaining space which included the installation of a regulation size backyard bocce court. The Bissonnette residents can now say their Vancouver Special landscape has been transformed into a modernized dreamscape.

Landscape Award of Excellence - Brewster

The client approached me during the construction of their new home for some input and advice for the future landscaping. Shortly after I was asked to do the project.
The job consisted of bringing in approx. 40-50 truck-loads of fill materials. The project included rough grading, planting, installing porcelain for patios, and piazza pavers for driveway. The more creative part of the project was for me to create an interesting water-fire feature, and building a retaining-wall and screen with 4/8 feet metal sheets. Planting and installation of low voltage lights followed.

Landscape Award of Excellence - Solway-Bach

The client was not very happy with the builders special garden design. I had to agree with them, so I came up with a little better layout. Because of their age, the client was asking for an easy staircase (low risers) to get to the backyard and a bigger and easy accessible patio-area. Building small retaining wall as a sitting area, planting shrubs and trees and placing basalt rocks were all done to the clients satisfaction.
They loved it so much that they asked me to do the front entrance in a similar fashion. Building a new low riser staircase was part of it as well as installing a new walkway in porcelain and the planting.

Landscape Award of Excellence - Deep Cove Woodlands

We completely redesigned and rebuilt the front and back landscapes of this Deep Cove Woodland Residence. Suffusing functionality with art, we contrasted graphic and architectural elements into our design with loose, mass planting schemes to match the woodland schema. In the front, we tore down the retaining wall, excavated the front yard, poured new architectural concrete walls, and built a new driveway with stone steps with lighting to guide you to the front door. In the back, we created an outdoor seating area wrapped with glass where our clients can enjoy the sounds of the stream in the ravine that runs through their backyard.

Landscape Award of Excellence - Eastridge
Brad Saugstad - Terraform Landscaping Ltd.
Located in the heart of Deep Cove, Eastridge is a custom designed waterfront property on a 30-meter steep cliff.
Terraform was brought on board to implement the landscape installation. Design was by by Urban Niche. The homeowners were eager to design a sustainable landscape that would blend with the homes natural surroundings. They wanted to incorporate existing raw materials that would not only complement their home but would also thrive in the environment and mimic the feel of the shore. Clean modern lines include raw elements like stone and concrete to echo the organic feel of their home. The result is a landscape beautifully suited to the home and natural surroundings. Softening the home’s symmetry, the lush landscape will continue to reflect the home’s modernity as it matures.

Landscape Award of Excellence - Sakura

Sakura is 12 story condominium located in the Fairview area of Vancouver with spectacular views of the downtown core and north shore mountains. The landscape incorporates both hard and soft scape elements with both formal and informal features. Throughout the spring there is an abundant variety of flowering blossoms that make the landscape pop with exuberant colour!

Landscape Award of Excellence - West Vancouver Estate
Fossil Project Services & Paul Sangha Landscape Architecture
The landscape installation of this project began in Spring 2016 with the planting of specimen feature trees and hedging. A large component of limestone masonry began later in the year and work carried through to the Summer of 2017, with ipe decking, natural stone driveway, irrigation, softscape and planting work following on from the limestone work.
