Spring Pruning Workshops Are Back!

It’s time to get ready for spring! Sharpen up those pruners, grab your saw and safety gear, and join us at Church in the Valley for a day of pruning practice! Whether you are new to the world of pruning, looking to freshen up some skills, or earn CEUs, this workshop if for you.

Join our qualified, experienced instructors who will start the day with an orientation  and then practical hands-on techniques in the field.

Topics Covered:

  • Choosing the right tool for the job
  • Timing
  • Target Pruning – DDD, structure, size, clearance
  • Standard principles and practices – ANSI, CODIT, Canadian Landscape Standard
  • Safety – MSI, RSI, PPE
  • Basic tool care – sharpening, sanitation, storage

Participants should dress for the weather and bring their PPE, clean, sharp by-pass pruners and a handsaw.

Lunch is included in this workshop cost; please advise of any dietary restrictions at the time of registration.


Landscape Horticulture Certification Program approved for 5 CEUs. ISA CEUs pending.

This event will be operated under all PHO guidelines for the Fraser Health Region. COVID-19 Vaccine Cards and a piece of photo identity will be required to attend. Masks will be required inside the venue at all times. Limited capacities will be in effect. For more information, please view the provincial and regional restrictions on the BC Government website.
