Awards

One of the most important parts of the night is the awards ceremony, where we honour our members who have put in the work to do great things for the industry this year.

Member Awards

BCLNA Member of the Year awards are awarded to those who commit themselves to professional practices and recognizes the efforts of dedicated members and friends to the industry. Award winners are nominated by BCLNA members, staff or the Board of Directors.

Award categories include:

• Member of the Year – Sponsored by Pine Meadows Tree Farms Ltd

This award is presented to a person whose services or contribution to the industry and the association has been exemplary over recent years.

• Educator of the Year – Sponsored by McTavish Resource & Management Consultants Ltd

This award is presented to a person who works primarily within the horticultural industry educating the industry and/or public about the industry or its products or services.

• Young Member of the Year – Sponsored by Van Belle Nursery

This award is presented to an individual 40 years of age or younger and whose services or contribution to the industry, and the association, has been exemplary.

• Volunteer of the Year – Sponsored by Paridon Horticultural

This award recognizes a member that has been available to assist BCLNA staff and Board with events and activities whenever required.

• Supplier of the Year – Sponsored by Schmunk Gatt Smith

This award is presented for outstanding service by an individual or company that supplies non-green goods or services to the industry.

• Garden Communicator of the Year – Sponsored by Clearview Horticultural Products

This award is presented to an individual providing outstanding communication to the public on garden and landscape topics.

• Lifetime of Outstanding Service Award – Sponsored by Cedar Rim Nursery

For outstanding service or contribution to the association and the industry by an individual who is or has been an active member or an employee of an active member.  This award is nominated and chosen by BCLNA Past Presidents.
